MR. BRYSON OTIENO OMWALO

UASU Maseno Chapter > MR. BRYSON OTIENO OMWALO

Bryson Otieno Omwalo, the Chapter Organizing Secretary is a lecturer in the Department of Literature, School of Arts and Social Sciences and a strong believer in the philosophy that “ the voice of Dons matter in all matters affecting them”. I am passionate about conflict resolution mechanisms in labour matters that mainstream the voice and welfare of the worker. I have undergone training on Conflict Transformation and Resolution in Juniata College; Huntingdon, Pennsylvania U.S.A (2017 and 2019)In addition I am a member of ITAC (International Teaching Arts Collaboration),an International Association of Teachers of Arts, and IMPACCT international (Imagining Practice in Arts and Culture in Conflict Transformation),an International Association of the use of Arts and Culture in Conflict Transformation and Resolution. Membership in the two organizations have provided very relevant experience in conflict transformation and resolution which I feel are a necessary pre-requisite for a trade unionist. The Union must be able to champion conflict resolution for the benefit of the worker.. Between 2014-2016 I was elected to the Board of Trustees, Maseno University Retirement Benefits Scheme (MURBS)Representing Academic Staff.
